I want to start by saying that I really love Emilia Hart's writing style, it is very unique and I usually can't put it down once the story gets going. I absolutely loved her first book Weyward, so I had high expectations for the Sirens, which I was excited that I had received an ARC for. The Sirens was written very similarly to Weyward in the fact that it is very related/parallel stories that take the reader back and forth in time until the end where they finally overlap (not literally) and things click into place.  That's usually my favorite part in her work, when things finally click into place. This one felt like it took longer to get there, but when it did, it was great. I'll be honest though and say, I did not like this book as much as the first one, but it is still a good read. It is very female character based, but there's just something about the character Lucy that I don't like. It feels like her character hit the mark, and it made the first part of t...

Review - Immortal by Sue Lynn Tan

There have only been a few times where I get so excited about receiving an ARC of a book that I'm speechless and near tears, this was one of those cases. I apologize in advance to other authors I ARC read for, I love you guys too but some authors I have loved for years and only recently started doing this. So when I get access to their works before they are released, I get emotional. Off track too apparently, this is supposed to be a review! First things first - this cover!!!! I love the covers for everything Sue Lynn Tan has written, but this one is my favorite. It is gorgeous and will look amazing on my shelf when I get the physical copy (pre-ordered as soon as it was available). Sue Lynn Tan is one of my favorite authors (it's a long list but still). Her world building and plots are always amazing, and I love the additions of her favorite stories and myths from growing up in her work. It makes everything she writes unique in the fantasy genre, and I love it. This book is n...

Review - The Wolf King's Keeper by Elle Lacerta

This book was quite enjoyable of a read, the world this author wrote was unique. I read it in one go because I didn't want to put it down. Unlike your typical werewolf romance, this one involves witches, curses, a hierarchy, and betrayal. The villain in this story gives some serious Scar vibes, and I love it. The characters are amazingly written and all strong in their own ways. I loved seeing Coda's development through the book. The spice was delicious, especially towards the end of the book (where it was well worth the wait). I really can't wait for the next one to see what happens with our group of characters.

Hello there!

My first blog post!! Welcome :) I'm about 99% sure no one will ever visit my blog, but I figured this would be a good way to at least keep myself updated and organized with the books I'm reading, and maybe post and talk about some fun things in between. So first, I guess I could write a little bit about me. I was born in the 90s, I was never popular, and I often prefer the company of other animals to people. It's not because I hate people, but I am very socially awkward. As in, "they wanted to hold me back in Kindergarten because of it" socially awkward. After years of attempting to make friends and failing for anything long term (until almost high school), I found books to be a fantastic way to escape. Tolkien was my first fantasy, and I still re-read the Lord of the Rings every so often. Even as an adult, I get lost in fantasy when life gets to be too much.  Which is how I got here - writing this - in hopes to spread the word on some books and support authors t...
